Bree’s founder, Sylvia Gunawan, is a Jakarta native who considers herself a global citizen. After spending 8 years in the US and another 8 years in China, she knows all too well about how it feels to miss her family and friends back home.

I wanted to surprise a friend for her birthday from the Netherlands while she was in Yogyakarta. After choosing and paying for a cake – quite exciting to arrange all the way from the Netherlands – I received an email from Sylvia letting me know that the cake I had chosen couldn’t be delivered to that address. What a pity! But she immediately offered a solution: I could pick a different cake.
The cake was scheduled to be delivered on my friend’s birthday, but unfortunately she wasn’t home at the time. Sylvia coordinated directly with her, and together they arranged a suitable time. The cake was indeed delivered then, and I heard it was absolutely delicious.
All praise to Sylvia – she was polite, professional, and resourceful, always coming up with good solutions. I have honestly never experienced such excellent customer service before!
